4th Delivery: Jerseys and Food Donation
Alexander Martínez, a dedicated table tennis teacher and coach from the state of Aragua, Venezuela, is determined to teach young people how to play table tennis. For this, he travels every week to Caracas, which is the capital of the country – a journey that takes about four hours by public transport each way.
Dedication Beyond Distance
Although public transportation can seem like a long and arduous journey, Alexander uses the time productively, often reading and preparing his lessons. His commitment to youth development mirrors our work in La Tendida and other Venezuelan communities.
Through the work of our facilitators David Cardozo and Gerardo Monsalve, we contacted Alexander Martinez to send him the news that we had a surprise for him and his young people in Maracay.
Addressing Real Need: Uniforms AND Food
A few weeks earlier, Alexander shared with us the needs of his students who were struggling with hunger because they couldn’t afford food. In response, McLean Little League, Arcadia Foundation, and Hitting Science teamed up to provide both uniforms AND food for these students in need.
- Uniforms: Donated by McLean Little League
- Food: Provided by Arcadia Foundation
- Logistics & Delivery: Organized by Hitting Science
This initiative is part of our broader commitment to support youth through sports. Similar to our table tennis donations in El Hatillo, we believe every young athlete deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion.
